Long-term commitment

It is my pleasure to present the Groeninghe Art Collection, an outstanding collection of contemporary artworks, housed in the prestigious European College in Bruges, Belgium.

Generated by the long-term commitment of its members and under the scrutiny of curators with international acclaim, we have been able to collect for more than 30 years artworks of international known artists.

Every five year, a new group is formed with a new focus. Today, in our 7th iteration, the focus lays on how new media and technology affect our daily lives.  Are we at the brink of an information revolution akin the industrial revolution, and how do artists respond to our new inter-human relations? These are among the questions that we address today.

An open mind, the joy of discovery and the sharing of information are the driving forces of our group.  As such, we don’t give into speculation or the fashions of the day.

Of course, we at Groeninghe Art Collection are also a group of friends who appreciate inspirational conversations over fine food and an occasional glass of wine, be it in Belgium or around the globe.

To eternally remind us of the Classic’s truth “Ars longa, vita brevis”
