In the works of Marijke van Warmerdam anticipation is frequently present.
She moves an a world of dualism and is drawing attention for movements of one place to another, which creates a push or draw in time.
Each image looks very real and concrete, in both her film loops as well as in her photo works.
She speculates on obvious moments and mirrors places which are not there yet in real. In a loose way of working she uses βandβ-βandβ concepts instead of βeitherβ-βorβ.

The artist focuses on natural elements and the conditions under which they are experienced. Nature, science and technology converse in Eliassonβs human observations.
While his work is often compared to the seamless installations by light β and space artist James Turell and Robert Irwin, Eliasson lets the viewer see the ordinary lamps hoses, pumps and valves used to create this extraordinary effects.
The use of mirrors is just one of the ways the artist under scores the human subjectivity and individual perception of this work.
With little means he realizes unexpected visual results.

Lockhart is one of a new generation of artists working in the photographic tradition associated with Jeff Wall and Cindy Sherman.
However, while Sherman constructed and starred in her own, Lockhart acts as director. She casts her subjects like actors, scouts for locations, props and lights each scene, frames the picture through the camera lens, discusses what sheβs looking for in the shot with assistants, and then steps back to assess the whole scene, while a professional camera operator takes the picture.
In this case, the result is of a Vermeer-like quality.
